AI just landed a hit song on the Billboard charts.

Seriously.

While everyone’s debating the ethics of AI, countries around the globe are quietly figuring out how to teach alongside these emerging technologies.

From BC to Finland, schools are writing the next verse of education in The Age of AI.

A MESSAGE FROM PLAY PIPER

TURN CURIOSITY INTO CONFIDENCE

Too often, kids who love gaming don’t see themselves as scientists or engineers — but what if play could open that door?

That’s what Play Piper is all about.

Their hands-on STEM kits turn curiosity into confidence by connecting gaming and tinkering with real coding and engineering.

Suddenly, students realize they are capable of discovery and innovation.

For educators searching for ways to spark excitement and keep kids engaged in STEM, Piper is the bridge.

DO SCHOOL DIFFERENT

Move Over, Taylor Swift. AI Just Dropped a Banger.

Last month, an artist named Xania Monet did something that’s never been done before.

She climbed onto the Billboard charts.

And the kicker?

She doesn’t actually exist.

Xania is pure AI.

Not a remix or a parody, but a full-blown, AI-generated hit.

The songwriter behind her, Telisha “Nikki” Jones, used generative tools to build Xania’s voice, look, and sound.

And the song took off.

Some people are calling it a milestone.

Others, a warning.

But either way, it tells us something important:

The future isn’t coming. It’s already singing in the spotlight.

And while the song is catchy and the technology drives my curiosity, what’s even more interesting is what it says about human creativity, learning, and the way we adapt.

Because at the same time Xania was climbing the charts, I was reading about how schools in the U.S. are grappling with AI.

And I started to wonder…

How are other places adapting?

Who’s experimenting?

Who’s pushing the boundaries?

So I dug a little.

And it turns out, a lot of places are already tuning their instruments:

  • Japan has released national guidelines on how teachers can utilize generative AI, providing helpful guardrails for ethics, privacy, and learning design

  • Finland is investing in teacher training first, ensuring educators understand AI before handing it to students

  • Singapore is integrating AI into learning platforms that adjust to each student’s pace

  • China has embedded AI directly into the national curriculum — every student, every grade

  • France and South Korea are developing frameworks emphasizing transparency, data protection, and equitable access

  • New Zealand is rethinking assessment itself. AI isn’t cheating; it’s part of the new learning landscape

  • Australia launched a national AI in Schools Framework this year, supporting teachers with ethics-focused lessons and sample classroom applications

  • The UAE has woven AI literacy into its national education strategy, linking schools to its broader innovation goals

  • India is rolling out AI modules in high schools as part of its digital-skills push

  • In Canada, British Columbia has published ministry guidance for K-12 use with practical advice on privacy, equity, and critical use of AI tools. Ontario has a similar framework focused on digital literacy and academic integrity.

Together, these examples tell a story: no one’s figured it all out.

But everyone’s moving fast.

And that brings us back to the question underlying Xania’s song:

  • What’s still uniquely human?

  • What new kind of creativity is about to begin?

  • How do we make sure we’re shaping AI and not the other way around?

When I zoom out, AI artists and national policies are only part of the story.

What it’s really about is leaders like you, deciding how best to adapt.

In a world rewriting its own rules, the most valuable skill is learning to learn together.

And that’s exactly what our Mastermind is built for.

Our community of school leaders is already exploring what it means to challenge assumptions and Do School Different.

If that kind of learning community sounds like where you want to be, you’re in good company.

TIP OF THE WEEK

AI just went platinum. What’s our lesson plan?

This week, have one conversation about AI in education.

With a colleague.

A parent.

Your team.

Consider asking:

  • What do you think students need to learn about AI?

  • How would you teach if students had AI in every lesson?

  • What assignment could AI do in 30 seconds, and what would you replace it with?

  • If a student used AI and explained their process perfectly, is that learning or cheating?

Then listen.

Because the future is already here, dancing in the spotlight.

And if you want to explore these questions with like-minded school leaders who are having these sorts of conversations every week, come join us in the Mastermind.

We're figuring this out together.
