3 faulty beliefs keeping you from transforming your campus

3 faulty beliefs holding back even the most dedicated principals (and how to overcome them)

Hey Ruckus Maker,

❌ Maybe you've tried implementing new initiatives, but they never seem to stick?
❌ Maybe you've been dreaming of reimagining education, but don't know where to start?
❌ Or maybe you thought leading a school would be more about vision and less about putting out fires?

The question is: why?

Why haven't you seen the progress you've wanted to see?

After mentoring thousands of Ruckus Makers, I've learned that 99% of the time what holds leaders back most are certain faulty beliefs.

  • It's not that they lack experience.

  • It's not that their district is too traditional.

  • And it's not that they don't have enough resources.

The real reason is that somewhere along the way they started to internalize a handful of faulty beliefs.

These are the 3 big ones I see over and over again:

Faulty Belief #1: "I need to master the managerial stuff before I can focus on transformation."

Let's stress-test this.

You've been handling the day-to-day operations for years. Has mastering the managerial side actually given you more time for strategic leadership? Or has it just trained your staff to bring every little problem to your door?

The data is clear: Principals using our Focus Funnel framework eliminate 80% of daily disruptions within 90 days. They don't wait to "master management" – they build systems that let them lead.

This is a faulty belief.

Faulty Belief #2: "I'll make big changes once everything is perfectly planned."

This one drives me crazy.

After helping thousands of principals create real change, I can tell you: perfection is the enemy of progress.

Here's the truth:

  • The "perfect time" never comes

  • Your best ideas will need adjustment anyway

  • Small wins create momentum for bigger changes

  • Your students can't wait for "perfect"

Our MVP Method (Minimum Viable Progress) helps principals test ideas quickly and safely. Imagine launching a new STEM program in just 6 weeks — something that would have taken at least a year waiting for "perfect."ust 6 weeks—something that would take your peers a year using traditional methods.

Faulty Belief #3: "I need to wait for permission or the perfect conditions to innovate."

This one frustrates me the most, because it keeps amazing leaders playing small.

The data shows that the best innovations come from:

  • Taking calculated risks

  • Starting small and scaling what works

  • Learning through action, not waiting

  • Building momentum through quick wins

Leaders using our frameworks consistently report:

  • More confidence in decision-making

  • Faster implementation of new ideas

  • Better student and staff engagement

  • Stronger results in shorter timeframes

Why? Because we show you how to:

  • Test ideas safely and effectively

  • Build support through early wins

  • Scale what works systematically

  • Create buy-in at every level

And here's the thing...

You will never overcome these faulty beliefs by reading another leadership book or attending another conference.

Because if you could, you would have already.

Which means, if you want to see different results, you have to take different ACTIONS.

And I'd love to help you (and give you all the shortcuts so you can save yourself 5 years of hard lessons learned — like I had to endure!).

PS… A principal recently told me: "I wasted 3 years trying not to make waves. Using these frameworks, I've made more positive changes in 90 days than in all those years combined." Don't let faulty beliefs hold you back any longer.
